Beginner #weighttraining tip .... Control the weight.

Don't use a weight that’s so heavy that you need momentum to lift it. You should be able to pause for at least one second before lifting a weight.

You might be tempted to pick up the biggest, heaviest #dumbbell, but the reality is your workout will be more effective with the right size weights.
